Dr. David Helland assumed ownership and operation of Alpine Veterinary Hospital in July of 1978. He graduated from Iowa State University in 1964 and holdsa. degree in Veterinary Pathology. He was on the faculty of Kansas State University for two years, operated a private veterinary diagnostic laboratory for four years and has served as a consultant in several laboratory forensic activities. Dr. Helland is a member of several veterinary associations, including the Greater Rockford Veterinary Medical ASsociation and the American Animal Hospital Association. Within the community, Dr. Helland has served as Chairman of the Board of the Winnebago Unit of the American Cancer Society and is a past President of the Winnebago County Board of Health. He is a 21 year member of the Alpine Kiwanis Club of Rockford and is also a past President of the organization. He is an active member of Bathesda Covenant Church. He has two children and three grandchildren. Dr. Helland enjoys horticulture and gardening, especially his wonderful tulips, which are well known in the community. He has one dog, Riley, and a cat named Buzz.
Dr. Grant Sanderson, DVM
Dr. Sanderson is a 1991 graduate of Rockford Lutheran High School. He attended Augustana College and is a 2003 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association, and serves on the Executive Board of the Greater Rockford Veterinary Medical Association. As an Eagle Scout, Dr. Sanderson loves spending time outdoors. He enjoys all sports, both saltwater and freshwater fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.
